I've been using Retinol 1.0 for almost a year and it works for me. I have mix skin, some big pores and occasional breaks. Before I wouldn't leave the house without foundation or a cap to cover my face. Now after a year I can see how my skin has improved, small pores, my skin tone is more even, less acne marks. I've been using it every night with Obagi 3 Clear (Hydroquinona) to get rid of the sun spots and then I wait half an hour and apply phloretin by skinceuticals, it works wonder. In the morning after cleaning my face I reapply Phloretin and later a moisturizer and sunblocker. When using Retinol 1.0, your face will be peeling like a snake for the first 2 weeks, your face will become red and if you use more than a pea size cream you'll burn your skin and it will be itching you for 3 or 4 days. Always wash your hands after using retinol otherwise you take the risk of applying the lefyover of your fingers on your body and next day it will itchy badly. I always buy this product from... I have been using this product for about 9 months. I like it but cannot as yet say it does what it claims. HOWEVER, I do not like the pump container it comes in. Of the 3 containers I have used so far, the pumps on 2 of them did not work and I had to pry the top off the cylinder and use a plastic stir stick to access the product. With the stick, I am able to get ALL the product ( with the pump a lot is left behind). The problem is the product is now exposed to air every time I use it. Wouldn't a squeeze-tube work better? I sure would for me.

Love this product! Makes the skin feel smooth, soft and exfoliates. Be careful not to use everyday at first. You should start out using the 0.5 formula if you have never used the product before (a pea size dab) every other night. Really helps on those nasty brown spots!

I am giving this only one star because it was advertised as tretinoin. I knew it couldn't be, so I bought it out of curiosity.
According to the label it does contain retinol, and it is appropriately priced for a retinol product, but is no great bargain.
Since it is NOT a bargain, I'd stick to better known and more straightforward companies.

used it day 1 in the evening, didn't notice anything- the liquid is sort of toner-like.. it's brown and has a distinct smell- maybe somthing like whitchhazel? otherwise i can't put my finger on the smel- it's not Baaad, but it's not beautiful either.
day two used it in the evening, next day in the morning washing my face, i felt like i was washing a mirror- my skin was soo smooth! squeeky smooth! ive never been able to touch my face and not feel some bumps..
now i'm into my 3rd of 4th week, it's staple. my skin def. flakes.. but the pimple are prohibited. if I have a pimple it's so small, and easy to handle now that i'm using this maxi peel 3.

I dont feel as self conscience anymore, I have gone to work and out and about without make up now.
my scars - by scars i do not mean discolorations that some people call scars, i mean poc marks- they are still there. they look a bit better i suppose because the skin is Tighhhter, and so the scar-valleys are less... Read more

Recieved this product 2 days ago. The outside of the bottle had basic instructions for use and indicated that the user refer to the inside of the box for further instructions and info, which was in different languages that didnt include english. Did my research and then a "patch test" to see if my skin had a reaction. Per recommendations, i applied the product morning, afternoon, and evening to my inner arm area, w/out a reaction.The following evening, I applied the maxi-peel to my face and neck, followed by the recommended maxi-peel moisturizing cream. I woke up with small blisters on my chin and forehead, that progressively worsened throughout the day; redness and swelling all over my face and neck. Very itchy and bothersome. As a nurse, I did further research and found that the reaction is likely caused by the hydroquinone, which is one of the ingredients in this maxi-peel exfoliant solution that lightens darkened areas of the skin caused by damage; scars, etc. Ive used Tretinoin...
